Our Guidelines for Reopening Safely
We’re committed to your safety as well as your vision care. That’s why we’re following all the recommended state guidelines in response to this Covid 19 pandemic.
We practice social distancing and clean every surface in between appointments with Clorox and alcohol. Plus, at the end of the day, we’re cleaning each room with UV sterilizer, too
Our staff and doctors have our temperature checked every day and we wear the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) recommended by the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
We also check the temperature of everyone who comes through the door. We ask that all patients wear masks and use hand sanitizer upon arrival. If you don’t have a mask, we can provide one for a nominal fee.
In order to practice social distancing effectively, we are temporarily limiting the number of staff in the office and the number of hours we’re open. These measures reduce how many patients we can see in a day. And that means our schedule fills up quickly.
For your convenience and efficiency, please fill out your patient paperwork online before your appointment. Some patients have been able to do this from their phones and tablets in our parking lot.
Normally we welcome walk in patients, but for now we recommend calling first to avoid long wait times. Because of social distancing, we keep the front door locked in between appointments. So, just give us a call when you arrive and we’ll let you know when it’s your turn to come in.
In normal conditions, we love it when families all come to the office for appointments. But while these temporary measures are in place, we can only accept patients in groups of two maximum. That means kids should be accompanied by one parent. Likewise, patients who need assistance can come with one support person.
As always, we want you to be able to try on frames when you’re selecting new glasses. However, because we wash each frame individually, we ask that you try to show us which frames you’re interested in before trying them on as much as possible.
When it comes to parents who have kids who want to get fitted for contacts the first time, the Texas Optometry Board has recommended we wait till we can teach kids how to do this themselves. We need a safe way to do it while maintaining social distancing. If that’s of interest to you, please let us know so we can plan accordingly.
Please check this page before your next appointment as we may update it as conditions change.
We thank you for your patience while we follow social distancing guidelines.
Rest assured that we are closely monitoring daily developments and will update our response accordingly.
Your care is our top priority and we will get through this together.
As always, if you have an eye-related emergency, please call us anytime at 512-260-0405.
